If the fingerprints fail to match with the data, the results are returned across a span of 48 to 72 hours. Manual intervention is absent. However, if the prints match, then a technician compares the RAP sheets to verify the disposition of the arrest. This may cause delay. Information of the delay must be communicated. In case the disposition is not specified, then the technician makes the required efforts to check the past records to inquire about the disposition of the arrest. Without complete information, proper results, which will eventually affect the license or employment decision, cannot be given. So, the technician contacts, the sheriff, checks court records or others to receive appropriate information. It is communicated either by electronic mail or a hard copy.
